Cerulean Blue
by The Soundkeeper
And when I died
The Good Lord gave me one more day
To return to earth
Just to see it all once more—
The sky, I realized for the first time
A perfect Cerulean blue.
The noise, music.
The wind, an exhale.
I never noticed
The beautiful complexities of humans
How strange we were
How we longed to be beautiful to each other
How we all ached for each other
And tended to each other.
How did I not see it the first time?
When I died
The Good Lord gave me one more day
Sprinting across the starry wasteland
To jump into the sea
And roar mightily
As it takes my breath away.
